Financial Update has a continuous publishing format and offers new articles throughout the quarter. Through July, the third quarter 2008 issue of Financial Update is complete and includes articles about changes to Regulation Z regarding mortgage lending that take effect in 2009 and will apply to a variety of mortgage categories including subprime; a recent speech by Fed Chair Ben Bernanke in which he discusses measures that could calm turmoil in the nation’s financial markets; a look at the recently released 2007 annual report from the Atlanta Fed, which examines the evolution of the Southeastern economy and considers its future challenges; and
the roles of the boards of directors of the Atlanta Fed and its branches. This "Did You Know?" story examines how the boards of directors help the Bank gather economic intelligence for use in formulating monetary policy.
